An indepth look at the different types of Pieland NFTs Compietitions
After all 8,314 Octopies NFTs were sold out shortly after Pi Day (3/14), we turned our attention to Phase 1 of Pieland’s roadmap and kicked off our first compietition three days later on our site. In the past two weeks, we’ve launched a total of FOUR compietitions, including St. Pietrick’s Day, The Fellowship of the Pies, The Driverz Collab, and the Piesons Oven. They were all a bit different and had varying requirements and rewards.
After gorging out on all these Pies, we wanted to take a moment to let our stomachs stretch and settle and tell you about our compietitions, the rewards, and how you can join in on the fun.
Story-Telling Compietitions
Story-telling compietitions are one of the most epic ways to engage with Pieland. These Compietitions will see the Octopies go on quests to explore new lands within Pieland, battle with Pienemies, and investigate broken Ovens. The Pieland journey compietitions will usually feature a Wikipiedia entry or other resources with more details about the Pieland lore. But you don’t need to go in depth to participate in these Compietitions.
The journey-driven competitions usually last four days and the rewards for these journey-driven compieitions will be related to its theme. For example, the participants of the Piesons Oven Exploration will receive an exclusive Piesons Oven NFT. The Oven represents the life and hub of the Piesons society and lets you into this Slice’s rich world. Now, we know you all want a slice of this pie, but these special story-telling events won’t be easy. You’ll need to dig deep into your Octopie collection and be on alert when these Story-Telling Compietitions pop up.
Project Collab Compietitions
When we partnered with the Driverz NFT Project for a Collab Compietition, it allowed our community to collect a unique Octopie NFT as well as earn NFTs from another project. This gives Pieland NFTs holders an exciting way to get involved in other projects and allows us to build relationships with like-minded NFT communities. Our goal is to do our due diligence to vet a project before we collaborate. However, we cannot guarantee these projects will deliver on their promises and roadmaps. Please make sure you research any NFT project and read all the ingredients carefully before buying into any NFT project.
We’ll continue to explore more Collab Compietitions with various degrees of engagements and rewards. We expect these to last just a couple of days and will often require just one or two Octopies to participate. Of course, you might not always be holding the specific requirements needed, but over time we intend to reward a range of different collection types.

Special Events Compietitions
The Pie team loves celebrating holidays. Any excuse for pie and a pint is a good reason to celebrate. You can expect us to do more themed Compietitions around special events. Not all holidays will get represented with a Compietition and we won’t always reward a special 1 of 1, like the St. Pietrick’s Octopie with a pot of gold and green beer. But you can expect exclusive rewards and themed prizes for these Special Events Compietitions.
Our goal is to allow more people to get in on the fun for these special events so the requirements will usually have a lower bar for entry. However, if we are releasing a truly special prize, we will be raising the bar to participate. Keep an eye on the pies and see if you can guess the next Special Events Compietition. Heck, you may even find an Easter egg for the next one!
Future Kinds of Compietitions
Now that we’ve explored the main types of Compietitons, we are sharing a variety of elements that we are working on. Some of these concepts are still half-baked while others are cooling on the window sill ready to go. Here are requirements and Compietiton types that you can expect to find in future Compietitions:

As you can see, we’ve got a host of plans for this feature. You’ll see these rolled out overtime and you will see how they can be mixed together in a fun and exciting way. For now, you can check out the current Compietition on MyPies, and are welcome to let us know any suggestions or feedback in our Discord community. We also want to highlight that we don’t expect every Pieland community member to complete every Compietition. We recommend focusing on the ones that most appeal to you. Be it because of the type of Compietition, the requirements fit your collecting style, or because you like the reward. We also want to remind people that there will be other features and activities for Octopie holders outside of Compietitions, including for people holding just 1 Octopie.
