We take a look at how the pre-order went and what’s next for those who pre-ordered.

On February 4th, we opened up our pre-order window. If you haven’t heard of this before, you can read more here. That pre-order window is now closed, as of yesterday at 2:00 pm PST — aka Pie Standard Time. Since then, the team at Pieland HQ have been hard at work auditing the order forms and preparing for the next steps. The big next step is the Public Mint, happening on February 10th at 3:00pm PST. You can read more about this in our recent article.

As for the pre-order, we are happy to announce that it was a huge success! It exceeded our expectations, with lots of people ordering some freshly baked Octopies. Fortunately, we had always planned for the amount sold during pre-order to be limited, leaving a chance for pieple who haven’t managed to get on to the whitelist to pick up some Octopies in the Public Sale. Since the start of preparing Pieland’s ingredients, we have always wanted to be transparent, clear, and informative for our community. As such, we want to share the breakdown of some numbers from the pre-order.

Pieland Pre-Order by the numbers:

  • Number of Octopie NFTs ordered - 2,766
  • Number of individual orders - 710
  • Total orders for max. (5) Octopies - 287
  • Percentage of respondents who felt 100% comfortable - 96.1%

Please note, the numbers here are subject to very minor changes as we finalize the auditing and data checking process. But we do not expect changes of more than 5% of the listed value to any number given.

This, to be honest, was incredible to see! Access to the pre-order was restricted to those on our whitelist, so having 710 people take part is an incredibly high amount, especially since Pieland’s pre-order window is something quite unique in the NFT space. Of course, we are big believers in this different approach to minting, but to see so many others also get excited is incredible!

We also saw a lot of people talk about how this was their first time getting into an NFT or an Ethereum based NFT. This was awesome to hear as that was a big motivation for us to try out this pre-order concept, as we believe it makes the process of getting into NFTs easier than ever. Seeing the positive feedback around this idea was extremely motivating for us as a team to continue on that path of helping people get involved in their first NFT. It also makes us extra excited to announce something for those on the pre-order list. That’s right, we’ve got a little surprise for you!

To celebrate this historic event for Pieland, we will be airdropping a surprise PieOAP to every person who took part in the pre-order (and successfully submitted their wallet address). That’s a Proof Of Attendance Protocol, inspired by POAP, delivered from the team here at Pieland. This cool little PieOAP doesn’t currently have any added utility, so please keep that in mind, but it does let you flex on your friends that you were an early Pieliever! It also allows a way for everyone to know who were our earliest supporters — they’re the ones who own this PieOAP NFT! Finally, it also lets you have piece of mind that you submitted your wallet address and payment correctly. Note — it does not confirm the number of Octopies you’ll be receiving, we recommend checking the automated email from the form you filled in is correct. If you’re still not sure, you can also reach out to the team via our Support system on Discord.

Introducing the first PieOAP from Pieland!

Update: The PieOAPs have now all been delivered.

To find your PieOAP, you need to go to your Opensea wallet and check in the “hidden” section. Opensea automatically hides airdropped NFTs to protect their users. So please be careful not to interact with other NFTs in this hidden section when you are doing this. You can see what the PieOAP looks like above. Its title is “Pieliever Badge”. When you click on the NFT, it will have information similar to the below screenshot.

How the PieOAP should look.

Please double-check the following is all correct before interacting with the NFT in your wallet:
Collection Name — PieOAPs
Title — Pieliever Badge
Created by — Pieland

Once you confirm it is a legitimate NFT from Pieland, you can unhide it and add it to your collection on OpenSea! This PieOAP is minted on the Matic network, via Polygon, instead of the Ethereum network. This isn’t too important, it just means it will look a little different in how it’s shown in your wallet than the Pieland NFTs.

If you didn’t receive the PieOAP in your wallet, but did take part in the pre-order, please wait for our announcement that all of them have been delivered. Once that happens, if you still don’t see it, then reach out to the team via our Support system in Discord.

We are very excited for the next steps at Pieland. Anyone who took part in the pre-order window can still take part in the pre-sale on February 10th prior to the public mint. Just make sure you’ve submitted the wallet address you want to use for the pre-sale via the form in our Discord. To everyone who has already started to join us in this wild journey of exploring Pieland — thank you for your trust in us. We can’t wait to bake up some awesome utility with you all!
