Mapping Out Pieland

A look at Pieland’s projected roadmap in three sequential phases.

In a previous post, we talked about the Pieland vision and building towards making our Octopie NFTs more accessible. Today we are providing more details about the tools and features we’ll build for our community and Octopie owners. This list is by no means set in stone and will continue to be added on to the expanding roadmap. We’re also not giving specific timelines for each item on the list because we want to keep a dynamic approach to what we build. If our community clarifies that they prefer a particular feature ahead of another one, we’ll be willing to adjust the pieority! Now, let’s jump into the kitchen and check out the ingredients going into our Pies!

To bake a Pie, you have to crack a few Phases.

Phase I
This is the first stage of building at Pieland. We believe we can deliver on all of these items within 30 days of our public mint selling out. Here’s the list of what you can expect (and of course, a few surprises will pop up too!)

• Carbon Negative — Delivering on our promise to leave the environment in a better place from our NFTs minting, including planting one tree per Octopie.
• Charitable Donations — Making a positive real-world impact in the name of the Pieland community.
• Community Social Events — We’ll be running poker nights, VR games, trivia, bake-alongs, etc. with prizes to be won!
• Community Voting — Establishing a system for Octopie Holders to vote on a range of issues and plans for Pieland.
• The Wikipiedia — Launching a one-stop-shop on all the Pieland lore, including contributions from the community!
• Compietitions — Kicking off the first Pieland Compietitions to provide ways to reward Octopie collectors.
• “MyPies” — A feature on our website that allows pieple to see detailed information on their Octopie in an exciting and unique way.
• Cross-Chain Experiences — We’ll be working to deliver some unique experiences on other blockchains for our community.

Phase II
When Phase I is near completion, we plan to roll out the majority of the features listed below within six months of our public mint selling out. Phase II focuses on shaping the world of Pieland so start loosening those belts:

• Octopie Personalization — The opportunity to name your Octopies and explore their unique personality. Time to get creative with those puns!
• The “Kitchen” — A web-based tool which will allow pieple to make sizzling hot and unique social media versions of their Octopies.
• Leaderboards — Living on Pieland.io so the community can flex their Octopie collection in a whole new way.
• Achievement System — A unique and exciting way to reward our community members that adds a new layer to gaming with your NFTs.
• PieRL Events — Inviting our community to the first Pieland IRL event. Note — the timeline here is dependent on the global pandemic.
• Octopie Merchandise — Expect some freebies, some limited editions for sale only to Octopie owners, and some available to all!

Phase III
As we move past Phase II, we’ll be able to explore even more exciting features for the community. We’ll be starting development on these features right away, but delivering the final and market-ready version will require some extra time to bake them to perfection:

• Pieconomics System — Allowing for a range of new mechanisms around collecting, trading, and staking in the world of Pieland.
• Animation Series — We’ll be working with an established studio to deliver a top-quality product that adds new life to the Octopies.
• The Pieland Metaverse — Allowing us to truly create an entire world of Pies.
• Battling & Crafting Systems- Leading to more functionality and utility to every single Octopie NFT.
• The Pieland Mobile App — So community members can explore and delve into Pieland regardless of where they are.
• Web Mini-games — Adding extra interactivity and fun for every Octopie holder.

We are very excited for the next several months and Pieland’s 2022 outlook. We’ve already started rolling the dough on a range of Pieland features already. You can certainly expect to see more juicy surprises added to this list — but we have to keep a few Pies up our sleeves!
